Dialogues – an exhibition of painting & sculpture

You are invited to the opening night of this 8 person art exhibition of painting & sculpture in the newly restored museum of Molvízar. 6 out of the 8 exhibiting artists are ANA members (Artists’ Network Alpujarra) – Jane Kleinschmit (organiser), Gareth Lister (curator), José Vera, Ánxela Meilán, Wes Somerville, Emma Plunkett, plus Mix Amylo, and Kitty Harri.

The exhibition is happening to coincide with Molvizar’s cultural week. It will feature numerous artworks, including light sculptures, large oil paintings, acrylic paintings, collages, black and whites and small concrete sculptures. There is no theme, which allows the artists to show their favourite pieces.

The inauguration

1st May from 8pm

The evening will feature live music and refreshments, as well as providing an early-bird opportunity to acquire unique works of contemporary art.

The music

This magnificent, recently renovated space, was formerly part of the monastery of the Jesuits. Due to its location, in the upper part of the town, it gives spectacular views of where the mountains meet the sea. The structure of the room, with high ceilings and elongated spaces, makes it possible for the paintings and sculptures to engage in dialogues with themselves and each other. This allows the viewer to play with distances and perspectives when contemplating the works.

The address

Calle Barrio Alto 4, Molvízar, 18611, Granada, Spain.
