Estranged by Maxine Friday

An A4 watercolour, painted in 2018. Maxine saw a photograph somewhere of this couple and it was so clear that the relationship was over because their eyes and their body language was so sad. Maxine felt compelled to paint them and write this poem:

Estranged

It is in the eyes
The mirror of the soul.
That says it all
This love has grown cold.
No more spark to ignite
passion once known
Just the dying embers
of this love – forlorn!
