ANA New & Old
Our latest show from the ever-growing ANA (Artists’ Network Alpujarra) group is titled ‘New and Old’. It is an eclectic mix of the new and old work of local artists, with a wide variety of disciplines from traditional paintings, photographs, mixed media work, ceramics, 3D work and wonderful light installations. I believe we are going from strength to strength.

A great big thank you
What can I say? Another fantastic opening evening. Although we were unfortunately put off our original opening night date on Friday 5th, (because the police were using it as a ‘crisis centre’ as part of the Órgiva celebrations, attending to burst ear-drums we think!) we still managed to have a night to remember. Even in the pouring rain, many folk of Órgiva and around ventured out to support us. So thank you to you all, we really appreciate it.
Our curator, Gareth Lister has done an absolutely amazing job of hanging and placing all the work on show. Everything blends seamlessly and your eye is drawn from one piece to the next. A huge thank you to Gareth for his expertise and knowledge in getting such a wonderful show ready.
Jo Chipchase who also organised this show said:
“It was rewarding to see such a diverse selection of people attending the opening night of the ‘Viejo and Nuevo’ show. ANA is helping to make art accessible to the local community, Spanish and foreign alike, as well as making it affordable for local people to buy unique and original works of art directly on their own ‘doorstep’ in Orgiva.”
Another big thank you
We at ANA would like to thank the generosity of Bibi and Monica who came to our rescue at the eleventh hour. Thank you to Monica for providing absolutely delicious and unusual tapas for free for our bar and to Bibi for serving the drinks, again for free.
Something for everyone
It is a pleasure to see work from artists who have not exhibited for a while and to see the work of our newest members. I think you will agree that the work on show is of an exceptional standard and we believe this show is one of the best yet.
If you should wish to contact any of the artists showing work, please feel free to go to our ANA website to leave a message.
